Safe to Share helps you hide details in text and images before sharing them. It is developed and operated by an individual and is free to use without an account.
Replace selected text with the characters you choose, then copy the result or save it as a text file. Fill selected image areas with black and save the result as a PNG.
Your input is processed in your browser. For instructions and supported formats, see “How to use”.
Before sharing
This site hides only the ranges you select. It does not automatically detect personal or confidential information and does not guarantee that all sensitive information is removed or that sharing the result is safe. Anything you do not select remains in the output.
Surrounding text or details left in an image may still reveal a person or other information. Review the copied text or saved file before sharing it.

Privacy policy
Your input and edit history
Text, images, files, selected ranges, replacement text, and edit history are processed in your browser. They are not sent to this site’s server or external services, or saved in cookies or browser storage.
While you edit, the original input and edit history are kept in browser memory to support undo. They are not carried over when you reload the page or navigate to another page, such as About or Help. Copy or save any results you need before leaving the editor.
Copying and saving files
“Copy” writes the text with selected ranges replaced to your device’s clipboard. Exporting saves the processed text or image to your device. The original file is not modified.
Copied content and saved files remain after you close the editor. Check your device or app settings for how your clipboard and saved files are managed.
Theme preferences, cookies, and analytics
Only your theme preference is saved in your browser’s local storage for your next visit.
We use Google Analytics 4 to measure page views. Text, images, file names, selected ranges, replacement text, edit history, URL queries and fragments, and referrers are not included in the analytics data sent by the application. Google uses cookies and processes information such as IP addresses and browser details. Analytics data is not sent when Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control is enabled in your browser.
We do not use advertising tools.
Site hosting
Your browser connects to the hosting service to display this site. That service may process information such as IP addresses, access times, and browser details. This does not involve sending the text or images you edit.
Contact
Contact us through the external contact form (opens in a new tab). Your submission is sent to the operator through that service and used to respond to your inquiry. Review the external service’s privacy policy before submitting. Do not include confidential information, unnecessary personal data, or unredacted input.
